Aicha Boumenir, Ma.Dc, B.Soc.Sc., Adv.Dip.HR, Dip.Couns.
Welcome to my practice! I’m a French counselor with a passion for guiding individuals through the difficult terrain of human relationships. After traveling to Australia many years ago, I found not only a love for this beautiful country, but also a deep connection with its people—especially my partner, who has made this place feel like home in every way.
My Professional journey
My professional and personal journey into understanding how people connect began more than twenty years ago, when I tried to understand why we interact the way we do. This curiosity led me to pursue dual bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and Sociology, followed by a Master’s in Dynamics of Change.
Since then, whether it was while working on complex interpersonal dynamics in large-scale settings or intimate relationships, or simply while navigating the ups and downs of my own relationships, I have gained incredible personal and professional experience in human connections. Along the way, I’ve expanded that experience by gaining a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Human Resources, a diploma in Counselling, and various specialized training in couples/relationships therapy such as Gottman Therapy (Level 2), Emotion Focused Therapy, Sex Therapy, and Trauma.
Today, my sole focus is on supporting couples because I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of healthy relationships. Witnessing the resilience and growth of the couples I serve reminds me daily of the profound privilege it is to accompany others on their journey toward greater intimacy and fulfillment.
To ensure that I am aligned with best practices and deliver the highest level of services in relationship counselling, I am a registered couple counsellor at the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Additionally, I play an active role in the counselling community as a convenor for the Hunter Australian Counselling Association Chapters, where I facilitate opportunities for professional development and collaboration among peers.
My Approach
In my practice, I believe in the power of empathy, understanding, and evidence-based techniques to foster healing and growth. Each couple is unique, and I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs, creating a safe and supportive space where you can explore, heal, and evolve together.
